We collect information you provide directly when you create an account or use the Service: your name, company name, email address, and password (stored as a bcrypt hash — never in plaintext). We also collect project details you enter, including addresses, square footage, build specifications, finish levels, and subcontractor quote data.
We also collect usage data automatically: pages visited, features used, estimates generated, and subscription activity. This helps us understand how the Service is used and where to improve it.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Your project data — addresses, estimates, sub quotes, job cost actuals, and change orders — belongs to you. You can export or delete it at any time through your account settings.
Builder IQ uses anonymized, aggregated project data to improve the accuracy of assembly rates and regional cost benchmarks. This means we may learn, for example, that framing costs in Durham averaged a certain range across a set of closed projects — but this data is stripped of any identifying information before being used. Individual project data is never shared with third parties without your explicit consent.
Your data is stored on secure servers. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plaintext. We use industry-standard practices to protect your data in transit and at rest.
Payment information is processed entirely by Stripe and is never stored on Builder IQ servers. We receive only a confirmation of payment status from Stripe — not your card number or banking details.
Builder IQ uses cookies to maintain your login session across page loads. We may use analytics tools to understand how the Service is used in aggregate — for example, which features are most used and where users encounter friction.
We do not use advertising cookies. We do not sell behavioral data to advertisers. We do not track you across other websites.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data — including your name, email, company, and project records — is permanently deleted within 30 days of your request.
Anonymized aggregate data derived from your projects (such as regional cost benchmarks) may be retained indefinitely for rate modeling purposes, as it contains no personally identifying information.
You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information at any time. Most of this can be done directly from your account settings page. You may also request a full export of your data or ask us to delete your account by contacting us at hello@builderiq.co.

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service or applicable law. Material changes will be communicated by email or by a prominent notice within the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
